As a Citroen executive, having been President of Citroen Japan and Citroen Czechoslovakia, Philippe naturally has strong links with the factory, but his love of the automobile spurred him on to undertake this project - his first book - in his spare time.

Einsteigern seien dagegen Marc Sonnerys "Maserati - The Citroën Years" oder der antiquarische Band aus der AutoHistory-Serie von Osprey empfohlen.Zu dem konfusen Layout dürften vor allem die vielen abgedruckten Originalunterlagen über den SM beitragen, wie die 34-seitige Presseinformation, der SM-Prospekt von 1972 sowie diverse andere Unterlagen aus aller Welt.Rund 80 der 225 Seiten bestehen aus Nachdrucken von Prospekten und Presseunterlagen. Für Kenner eine wahre Fundgrube! Wirklichen Gewinn dürften aber dabei vor allem Leser aus dem Buch ziehen, die des Französischen mächtig sind. Denn viele Faksimiles sind in französischer Sprache.
