Ich habe mir das Songbook mit Gutar Tab nur wegen dem Song "Times like These" geholt. Ich liebe die Accoustic-Live-Version davon. Ok, in dem Book steht jetzt NICHT genau diese Accoustic Version, aber man kann sich alles was man dafür braucht, aus dem Book zusammen suchen. Accorde, Apajando Zupfaccorde, Schlagmuster, usw. Gesangsnoten und Text sind natürlich auch dabei.Ich übe jedenfalls fleissig danach und wer weiß, vll. seht ihr mich ja eines Tages bei "The Voice"!!! ;)

Tolle Dokumentation als Fan davon begeistert. Hätte noch viel länger sein können und es wäre nicht langweilig geworden. Hoffe af mehr.

Das erste Teil hab ich geliebt und wann ich mitbekommen hab das es jetzt noch ein Teil gibt habe ich mich das sofort bei Audible das Hörbuch gekauft und das hat mich den schlaff letzte Nacht geraubt.In dieses Buch geht es um die Klassischen Helden Bellerophon, Theseus, Heracles, Perseus , Jason, Atalanta, Orpheus und Ödipus die alle Sterbliche sind (Keine Götter wie so manch einer im ersten Teil) und treffen auf die Monster die diese bekämpfen: die Hydras, der Sphinx, Harpyien , Gorgons, und der Minotaur.Beim ersten Teil hab ich Heracles/Hercules sehr vermisst, aber jetzt ist er dabei!Seine Vorlesung ist wie immer sehr schön, aber ich habe mich auch schon vor Jahren in seine stimme (und ein bisschen in Ihm) verliebt, bin da also nicht Objektiv. Erneut ist es Stephen Fry gelungen, die antiken Geschichten mit neuem Leben zu erfüllen. Mit viel Witz und gelegentlichen Seitenhieben auf zeitgenössische Verhältnisse werden die Hauptfiguren der griechischen Sagen und ihre Taten vorgestellt und in kurzweiliger Form nacherzählt. Nie langweilig, sondern immer wieder überraschend frisch - zeitlose europäische Tradition. Die Hörbuchfassung wird präsentiert von ihm selbst - einem Meister der gesprochenen englischen Sprache. Auch für Nichtbriten ein echtes Vergnügen.Hoffentlich setzt er diese Reihe mit einer Nacherzählung der Werke Homers (Ilias & Odyssee) fort. Darauf warte ich schon jetzt mit großer Ungeduld!

Urban Faery: A modern Fantasy pretty much stole my afternoon in the most fantastic way! I downloaded it and thought I would read a chapter or so during lunch. Boy was I wrong! I literally could not put the book down.The writing is absolutely stellar, far better than I had anticipated. Angela's command of the language and plot pacing along with beautiful imagery create an addictive read. In fact, I feel like Cate and Luc leaped off the ages and pulled me through a portal into their magical world. I find this author's writing reminiscent of Barbara Kingsolver and my all time favorite female writer Linda Hogan who wrote "Solar Storms".I also love that it's educational about the history and culture of Los Angeles and the Welsh immigrants that helped build the city.The only thing negative I can say about this book is that it's testing my patience to wait for the second one. I want to binge read about Cate and Luc's excursions like one binge watches their favorite Amazon or Netflix show. It's that good.Read it, you will be happily mesmerized!

A refreshing, quick read previously conceived as a television pilot. A book that takes the reader on an exciting ride only the author could write. The main characters discover Welch Mythology in Los Angeles when the experience of urban life isn't enough for any of them. Main character, Cate, who accidentally drowns, is found by Surfer, Luc. He is a character who helps Cate find a new direction geared towards environmentalism and kindness. Fun to read and educational, especially for those who don't know about Welch Mythology, and for those who don't live on the West Coast, and also wish to learn about different parts of the USA. Roger R. Jackson is John W. Nason Professor of Asian Studies and Religion, emeritus, at Carleton College, where for nearly three decades he taught the religions of South Asia and Tibet. He has also taught at the University of Michigan, Fairfield University, McGill University, and Maitripa College. He has a BA from Wesleyan University and an MA and PhD from the University of Wisconsin, where he studied under Geshe Lhundub Sopa. He maintains a scholarly interest in Indian and Tibetan Buddhist systems of philosophy, meditation, and ritual; Buddhist and other types of religious poetry; the study of mysticism; and the contours of modern Buddhist thought. His books include The Wheel of Time: Kalachakra in Context (with Geshe Sopa and John Newman, 1985), Is Enlightenment Possible? (1993), Tibetan Literature (with José Cabezón, 1996), Buddhist Theology (with John Makransky, 1999), Tantric Treasures (2004), The Crystal Mirror of Philosophical Systems (with Geshe Sopa et al., 2009), and Mahamudra and the Bka’ brgyud Tradition (with Matthew Kapstein, 2011). He has written dozens of articles, book chapters, and reviews and has presented regularly at national and international scholarly conferences. He was editor in chief of the Journal of the International Association of Buddhist Studies from 1985 to 1993 and served as coeditor of the Indian International Journal of Buddhist Studies from 2006 to 2018.
